BRAIN AND SPINAL INJURIES
The Kornfeld Firm is experienced in handling traumatic brain injury cases resulting from medical negligence, construction site or motor vehicle accidents, and maritime injuries aboard fishing and other types of vessels.

In the area of medical negligence, Rob Kornfeld has a special interest in handling cases involving a failure to diagnose intracranial aneurysms (aneurysms in the brain). Rob has handled cases of patients who have suffered catastrophic injuries caused by the failure to timely diagnose and treat a brain aneurysm. These cases have been caused by the negligence of primary care providers, family physicians, radiologists and other HMO providers who have failed to timely run diagnostic tests or have negligently read the scans.
The firm has contacts within the health care community to facilitate neuropsychologic evaluation of a client’s cognitive deficits. Additionally, through the Rob Kornfeld’s professional contacts and resources, he can help direct you to a leading cognitive rehabilitation center to help you recover. For catastrophically injured clients, Mr. Kornfeld’s firm has enlisted the services of life care planners to help gauge the future medical and financial needs of the disabled client and their families, particularly in cases of those who have suffered significant cognitive impairment and/or full or partial paralysis.

Rob has an understanding of what it’s like to be disabled for a short period of time. Rob also knows what it is like to suffer and recover from a post concussion syndrome (PCS). Fortunately, Rob was able to make a complete recovery from his head injury and has devoted his practice to representing head injury patients and clients. See Rob’s Story.
For these reason, Rob has a greater appreciation and sensitivity to those who are undergoing similar problems or complications from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or rehabilitation from a head injury. Recovery from cognitive problems is a time consuming and frustrating experience for all, not just the patient, but also for those loved ones, family members and care givers. Given Rob’s own personal experiences and those representing many, many head injured clients, he understands the frustrations and concerns of those families or partners/spouses who have a loved one or close friend in a similar circumstances.
